its a lonely life on 10m and 6m at the minute so I switched on my little IC-7000 for the first time in ages, I bought a Sharmans X200 2m/70cm colinear about a year ago and its sat in the bag since then so I decided to get it out and put it up, only at about 20ft at the mo on a temporary mast until I can sort something a little better, switched on 2m and voila it was dead, I rarely if ever use 2m so thought I would have a listen around, in the last 2 days ive heard one single station, its pretty damn dead so I thought I would try the 7000 on Airband AM freqs for a listen and its surprisingly good as per the video below, this was tuned into Stansted Approach on 120.625Mhz, so im presuming this is aircraft on approach to the airport, sounds pretty decent on the little 7000.
